Daniel C. Perry
Daniel C. Perry (born 1979) is a British orthopaedic surgeon, academic, and researcher specialising in paediatric orthopaedics. He is the NIHR Research Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery[1] at the University of Liverpool School of Medicine.[2] and an Honorary Professor at the University of Oxford.[3] His work focuses on hip disease and trauma in children, with contributions to clinical guidelines and research funding exceeding £30 million.[4]
Early life and education
Daniel Perry was born in Birmingham, England. He graduated with MBChB(Hons) from the University of Liverpool in 2003. His academic milestones include a PhD in Epidemiology (2011) and a Higher Certificate in Statistics (2012) from the Royal Statistical Society.
He received his FRCS (Tr&Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England (2013) and completed a Fellowship in Children's Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2015. In 2023, he was awarded the FRCS Ed (Ad Hominem) by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Career
Professor Perry is recognised in paediatric orthopaedics and currently serves as the NIHR Research Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Liverpool.[2]. He is also an Honorary Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Alder Hey Children's Hospital[5] and an Honorary Professor at the University of Oxford.[3]
He has held prestigious leadership positions, including:
