Daniel Fisk Bennett

Daniel Fisk Bennett is an atheist activist residing in Washington state. Daniel became known for his outspoken nature on social media after creating a science and skepticism community called Atheists Against Pseudoscientific Nonsense.[2] His organization became a small sensation when it began to take on notable controversial figures such as David Wolfe, Alex Jones, and Ken Ham by writing articles on AAPN's website[3] thoroughly debunking (sometimes hilariously) their outlandish claims. Eventually Daniel's activism caught the attention of American Atheists and he was offered the Assistant State director for Washington state.[4][5] Daniel makes frequent guest appearances on YouTube[6][7][8][9][10] and radio shows and is still very active in the science and skepticism community. He has been affectionately given the nickname "The Pseudoscience Guy"[11] by those who interact with him on social media.
In recent years, Daniel has expanded his public presence through his YouTube channel, Dan’s Backcountry, where he documents wilderness exploration, fishing, and the therapeutic power of nature. The channel blends cinematic storytelling with reflective narration, often exploring themes of resilience, fatherhood, and personal growth. As a disabled Navy veteran and former case manager, Daniel brings a grounded, introspective perspective to his outdoor experiences, inspiring viewers to reconnect with the land and find meaning in simplicity. His work continues to resonate with those seeking mental clarity, self-reliance, and a deeper relationship with the natural world.[12]
Upbringing
Daniel was born in the late 1980s into a loving home in Los Angeles county and has 1 sibling. Daniel described his childhood and teenage years as somewhat troublesome as he was a rather difficult and oppositional child. His grandmother would frequently remark that he (Daniel) would make a great lawyer because he was so good at arguing.

Daniel served in the United States Navy and enlisted in April 2007 and was honorably discharged in January 2015 at the rank of a 2nd class Petty Officer (E-5).
