Daniel Mark Harrison (July 1, 1980 –) is a British author and Blockchain entrepreneur. He is the CEO of DMH&CO. He is the 9th generation heir to Harrison & Sons, printers of the British stamps and British banknotes.[1]

Background[edit]

Harrison started out as a financial journalist at TheStreet.com [2], where he wrote an Asia markets column. He was then editor-in-chief of Blockchain news site Coinspeaker.com[3]. Harrison has written a trilogy on Blockchain in addition to two novels [4] with his first, The Millennial Reincarnations, poorly received mostly for its sexually explicit content featuring underage teenagers and long-winded prose [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]. Harrison's company became the major shareholder in the oldest cash shell vehicle in the United Kingdom[12] when it took a position of 3.3 million options in 2016 [13]. Harrison has been the centre of controversy over his role in two failed companies and a failed buyout attempt of De La Rue, which owns his family's former business Harrison & Sons.

De La Rue Takeover Attempt[edit]

In 2015, Harrison announced via a blog post that he was taking over De La Rue[14], which owns his family's former business Harrison & Sons. The announcement sent the stock price of De La Rue climbing, though no bid was ultimately made.

Absolute Living Developments[edit]

Absolute Living Developments was a housing scheme in the North of England which Harrison announced in October 2015 his company DMH&CO was buying out for over a hundred million dollars. Months later, in April 2016, the company went bankrupt causing protests outside the Hong Kong British Embassy and hundreds of investors left stranded in liquidation proceedings with an international police investigation ultimately taking place in Great Britain and Hong Kong[15] [16] [17] [18] after Harrison appointed a board of creditors to rebrand one of the buildings Harrison Residences after his own name [19] and boasted of an entire building renovation including a running track outside [20]. Ultimately the building was sold to another buyer in a quick fire-sale when Absolute Living developments imploded. [21]

Monkey Capital[edit]

In 2017 Harrison started a company called Monkey Capital which undertook an ICO[22]. The company was later hit with a class action lawsuit[23] after 6 individuals claimed that Harrison owed them $30 million when he cancelled the ICO and sold more than 800 million Monkey tokens into the market.[24] [25] A motion to default against Harrison by the plaintiffs was later denied in the District Federal Court of Florida.[26]

Other Controversies[edit]

Harrison was the proprietor of a news website called Marx Rand. Marx Rand is notable for publishing a story by journalist Nate Thayer[27] in which the FBI was exposed for harbouring a federal agent who was the lead member of the Ku Klux Klan when it was printed in Vice afterwards[28]. Klan members later threatened to kill Thayer’s dog as a result of the article being published.[29]
