Daniel MacGregor Morris (born November 16, 2002) British-Australian amateur kickboxer who competes in the lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight divisions on the regional Australian circuit.

Early Life[edit]

Born in Reading, England, Morris moved to Sydney, Australia just before his third birthday and would eventually move to the north-west Sydney suburb of Castle Hill at the age of five where he attended the local primary and high school before attending Macquarie University to undergo a double degree consisting of a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Applied Finance.

During his youth, Morris played football, AFL, touch football and trained in various forms of martial arts.

Martial Arts Career[edit]

Morris began training karate in 2010 at the age of seven, where he would obtain his black belt on his twelfth birthday and would then earn his 2nd Dan and 3rd Dan at fourteen and sixteen respectively. He would also trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for four years between the ages of fourteen and eighteen. Morris would also have brief stints training boxing, kickboxing and wrestling. At 19, Morris would return to training in kickboxing fulltime at Evolution Gym whilst also continuing training in karate.

Fighting Style[edit]

Morris is left-handed and primarily fights out of the southpaw stance, but often switches to an orthodox stance. Morris is a pressure fighter and will frequently try to be the aggressor in his bouts. Morris is known for primarily using his boxing and knees whilst also mixing in kicks on occasion.

Personal life[edit]

Morris was born to a Welsh father and a Scottish mother and has two younger sisters who both also trained in karate and one obtaining her black belt and the other her 2nd Dan black belt. Both stopped training karate in 2016 to pursue careers in other sports..

Morris is a football fan and a supporter of Liverpool F.C. He has also expressed support for Sporting Lisbon, Reading F.C, Rangers and Roma.
