Career

Paulin performs under the stage name Danny Zzzz, combining escapology, hypnosis, and illusion in live shows and media appearances. Regional and national coverage in Canada and the United States has profiled his work and community ties in the Niagara region and beyond.[4][5]

America’s Got Talent: Extreme (NBC, 2022)

In March 2022, Paulin auditioned for NBC’s America’s Got Talent: Extreme, where he was placed in a locked mail bag and shackled inside a container hoisted roughly 140 feet in the air with one minute to escape. He succeeded and advanced from the audition on unanimous “Yes” votes from judges Simon Cowell, Nikki Bella, and Travis Pastrana.[1] The audition was released on the show’s official channel.[6]

Canada’s Got Talent (Citytv, 2022)

Paulin also competed on Canada’s Got Talent in 2022; a Rogers/Citytv press release highlighted a performance dedicated to his late son.[2] Official CGT social channels circulated his audition clip.[7]

Das Supertalent (RTL, Germany, 2021)

In November 2021, Paulin appeared as an escapologist on RTL’s Das Supertalent, performing a fire-based escape dedicated to his late son.[8][9]

La France a un incroyable talent (M6, France, 2022)

Paulin appeared in 2022 on M6’s La France a un incroyable talent, where the recap highlighted his high-altitude escape routine.[10][11]

Tú sì que vales (Canale 5/Mediaset, Italy, 2023)

In October 2023, Paulin appeared as “Danny Zzzz” on the Italian talent show Tú sì que vales during the sixth episode of the season, performing an escapology routine.[12][13]

Britain’s Got Talent (ITV, UK, 2024)

In April–May 2024, Paulin (as “Danny ZZZZ”) auditioned on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. ITV previewed his daredevil act, and subsequent press reported a fiery stunt that did not go to plan during the audition.[14][15][16]

Australia’s Got Talent (Seven Network, 2022)

In 2022, Paulin appeared on the tenth season of Seven’s Australia’s Got Talent as a danger/escape act, listed among that year’s contestants by Australian media.[17]

Book

Radio

Paulin has worked in broadcast radio in the Niagara region and beyond. In 2025, 91.7 Giant FM listed him as an evening host under his stage name “Danny Zzzz.”[18] He also co-hosts the syndicated morning show The Morning Groan with Craig “The Rocket,” carried by outlets including Star 97 FM (WBLR).[19][20]

Personal life

Paulin has publicly shared that his son, Mason, died in 2020; media coverage has noted how he memorialized his son during televised performances.[4][2] In February 2021, a storage-facility fire in Niagara-on-the-Lake destroyed equipment used in his shows, among other losses documented by local news.[21]
