Daniel Schilling Nguyen serves as a Dissertation Chair and Mentor at Aspen University.[1] and a Dissertation Chair and Mentor Indiana Wesleyan University.[2] He also serves as a Lead Faculty at Aspen University.[1] He also serves as an Assistant Professor at Colorado Technical University.[3] He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Grand Canyon University.[4] He previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Colorado State University Global,[5] an Adjunct Professor at Saudi Electronic University,[6] and an Adjunct Professor at Ivy Tech Community College.[7]

Early Life and Academics[edit]

Daniel Schilling Nguyen (aka Nguyễn Linh) was born in Hamlet 2 Hue, Vietnam as one of ten children. Nguyen’s father Nguyễn Do served in the South Vietnamese Military and mother Đặng Thị Tại. Nguyen’s American father Raymond Leon Schilling and mother Lucille Marie Schilling.

After arriving in the United States in 1983, Nguyen completed his B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in 1993,[8] M.S. Degree in the Computer Science at the Northeastern Illinois University in 2004[9], and Ph.D. Degree in Management at the Walden University in 2013[10].

Career[edit]

From 1997 to 2003, Nguyen worked as a Sr. Software Development Engineer at Motorola.[11] From 2004 to 2007, Nguyen worked as a Test Engineer at The Signal/CINRAM. From 2007 to 2008, Nguyen worked as a senior CIM Software Engineer at Foxconn.[12] From 2008 to 2009, Nguyen worked as a Sr. Product Test Engineer at EF Johnson Technologies.[13] From 2009-2011, Nguyen worked as a Software Test Lead Engineer at Northrop Grumman[14] and Tasc, Inc.. From 2011 to 2013, Nguyen worked as a QA Product Test Lead Engineer at ManTech International.[15] From 2013-present, Nguyen worked as a Lead IT Specialist at Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).[16]

Military[edit]

From 1994 to 1998, Nguyen was serving as an active duty in the United States Marine Corps[17] where he worked as a Sr. Personnel Clerk. Nguyen had the opportunity to stationing overseas for one year in Iwakuni, Japan and Aviano, Italy. Nguyen and his fellow marine were embedded with the VMAQ-3 (aka Moondogs)[18] supporting Operation Silver Wake, a Non-combatant Evacuation Operation conducted in Albania.

Research[edit]

Nguyen’s research has focused on Global Virtual Team and Agile Software Development Team. In addition to his dissertation publication, Nguyen also published seven research article papers in numerous journals regards to Global Virtual Team and Agile Software Development Team[19]

Sports[edit]

From 1985 to 1989, Nguyen ran cross-country and indoor and outdoor track at Proviso East High School[20] for four straight years. In 1993, Nguyen received a running scholarship and ran cross-country at the Illinois Institute of Technology[8]. In 1993, Nguyen ran and finished the Chicago Marathon with a time of 3 hours and 25 minutes. In 1995, Nguyen ran Iwakuni[21] half Marathon and finished first in his age category group.
