Danielle Dozier
Danielle Dozier is an American television meteorologist employed at Tribune Broadcasting-owned Fox affiliate WXIN in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dozier, an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, presents the weather on the 4 p.m. newscasts Monday-Wednesday on WXIN and on weekend evenings. She also frequently fills in for Chief Meteorologist Brian Wilkes during weekday evenings.
Career[edit]
After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, Danielle Dozier began her career at KTXS-TV in Abilene, Texas.[1] Dozier worked at KTXS for more than four years first as the weekend meteorologist and then as the co-anchor of the weekday morning show. While there, she helped produce and edit an AP-award-winning 30-minute weather show.
Dozier left KTXS in December 2011 for KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At KOCO, Dozier was a part of the team that won "Best Morning Show" from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters in 2012.[1] As a storm chaser for KOCO, Dozier reported on many tornadoes and was nominated for an Emmy award[2] for coverage of the 2013 Moore tornado. Dozier was one of the first meteorologists in the field to report on the storm and at one point was a quarter-mile away from the EF-5 tornado.[3]
Dozier made national headlines[4] in June 2014 when she was on-camera[5] providing the weather forecast when a magnitude 4.3 earthquake[6] struck Oklahoma City. The incident led to Dozier being interviewed by CNN's Jeanne Moos regarding her reaction and being able to accurately guess the strength of the earthquake immediately.[7]
Dozier announced she was leaving KOCO in November 2014[8] to join the WXIN team.[9]
Personal[edit]
Dozier is married and grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is well-known to be a bowler.[10]
