Danish Iqbal is an Indian leading playwright, with a number of plays written and directed by him. Considered one of the finest postmodern Urdu writers of the late 20th- and early 21st-century, Iqbal is responsible for some of the most critically acclaimed plays in India, with a broad range of emotions, from Shakespearean adaptations to biting satire on political India.

Career[edit]
A post graduate in organic chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Iqbal joined All India Radio and worked on radio plays, current event productions, and news shows for over two decades during which he wrote and staged alongside MS Sathyu the play Dara Shikoh.
He is currently a senior member of the faculty at the School of Mass Communication at Jamia Milia Islamia, one of Asia's finest Schools for Mass Communication programmes.
