Daniel Alexander Montaie[1] (born November 22, 1996), better known by his online alias Danny Montaie, is an American streamer, and Internet personality.
Early life
Daniel Alexander Montaie was born on November 22, 1996, and hails from Detroit, Michigan, a city full of mixed cultures.[2] By his mid-teens, living in Detroit, he was involved in video games and the rap culture. His time was spent mostly around local underground hip-hop acts.[3] After an incident where he and his friends were in a face-to-face deadly car accident and narrowly escaped death, he shifted his gears to devote his life to faith and reflecting that inside of gaming and music.[4]
Career
Montaie began his streaming career when Apex Legends Battle Royale was newly released on February 4, 2019. His viewership began to grow when he started to stream on Facebook Gaming.[5]
Charitable work
In a fundraising event "A Mother's Love Runs Eternal" held September 30, 2019, Montaie raised money to be donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation.[6] Later in December, he initiated an event #OneDayCharityStreamChallenge to encourage other streamers to take at least one day out of the month of December to give back. During this time he partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to do charity streams for the month, until Christmas day.[7]
