Darian Kovacs has over 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, and public relations.[1] Darian has experience as a Professor at Trinity Western University [2], Jelly Academy, and other digital marketing courses [3]
Notable Community Initiatives
In 2005, Darian led CampusFire, a Christian seminar that linked participants via video conference[4] as the ministry program manager. An estimated 2,200 young people from across Canada joined the conference and submitted questions via text message. In 2012, Darian founded The Love Global Foundation, which provided a platform for missionaries to share their stories online.[5] It provided technology and digital tools that changed the status quo of how missions reporting was done.[6] Love Global offered a fundraising page on the site that allowed missionary supporters to donate to mission efforts with 100 percent of profits going to indigenous missionaries.[7] The platform allowed missionaries to submit live updates to the site using text messages or video camera, thus giving donors real time updates.[8]
Darian is credited with bringing the infamous Polar Bear Swim to Fort Langley in 2014, an event that takes place every January 1 where participants go for a cold dip in the Fraser River[9] Hundreds of people show up for the annual event each year.[10]
As co-founder of Vancouver Officiant, Darian brought a new service to Greater Vancouver: unique officiants ordained to wed couples. Darian himself quickly became one of the city’s most sought after Wedding Officiants.[11]
Entrepreneurial Ventures
In 2012, Darian founded a hi-tech commuter bus company that would transport people from the Fraser Valley to work in Downtown Vancouver.[12] He and his business partner, Chris Geoghegan, developed this Google-inspired bus club together. [13]
In 2014, Darian started CIMC, The Canadian Internet Marketing Conference. The event has featured speakers from major global brands such as Facebook, Instagram, Starbucks, Twitter, YouTube, BuzzFeed, and Google.[14] In 2018, Darian sat on the advisory board for DX3 Canada, an immersive retail, marketing and technology show in Toronto, Canada.[15]
Jelly Digital Marketing & PR
Kovacs' award-winning agency, Jelly Digital Marketing and PR, works with various local, national, and global brands within industries that range from real estate developments to chain restaurants. Through Jelly Marketing, Jelly Academy was born, a digital marketing course for small business owners.[16]
