Darin Banister is a retired Canadian, professional ice hockey player. Selected 200th overall in the 1987 NHL draft by the Detroit Red Wings. Darin is the all-time leading scoring defenceman ^<http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/display_players.php?tmi=8624>, for the University of Illinois-Chicago (NCAA Division 1) with 108 points. Darin played for the San Diego Gulls of the IHL, ^<http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=195>, The Adirondack Red Wings of the AHL, The Canadian Olympic team, and for the Fife Fliers of the BHL. An eye injury in 1993 resulted in his retirement from professional hockey.
