Darin Cooper is an American film, television, and stage actor.[1]

Career[edit]

Cooper's first credited role was in the 1994 film Famous. After that, he has appeared in numerous films such as The Setting Son,[2] The Real Thing, The Arrival, The Prophet's Game, Iron Man 3, along with two films directed by David Fincher, The Social Network and Gone Girl.[3]. Cooper is also a regular in The Asylum films, [4] appearing in Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus, Battle of Los Angeles, Super Cyclone, and Asteroid vs. Earth, among others.

Aside of films, Cooper has starred in TV shows like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Vengeance Unlimited, The X-Files, JAG, Haunted, Criminal Minds, Animal Kingdom,[5] 24, Charmed, NCIS,[6] and Drop Dead Diva. He also portrayed the character Wade on AMC's The Walking Dead,[7][8]

He was in the Fox film Who? (with Norman Reedus) in January 2018[9][10] and will be in Ford v Ferrari (starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale), directed by James Mangold, in 2019.

He has also worked in theater, appearing in several plays, some of them with his friend Silas Weir Mitchell.[11]

Early Life[edit]

Cooper was born and raised in Oakley, Kansas and graduated from Oakley High School. He attended Fort Hays State University before transferring as a senior to finish his Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design at Kansas State University. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, California to work as a graphic designer and production artist for several design firms and advertising agencies. Shortly thereafter, Cooper studied acting for several years with well-known teacher Larry Moss in Santa Monica, California.
