Darius Lahoutifard (Persian: داریوش لاهوتی‌فرد‎) is a Serial Entrepreneur in high tech industry and an Executive with extensive management experience introducing and developing innovative concepts into the mainstream markets. A French citizen, he holds a M.Sc. degree in Robotics Engineering from École Centrale Paris.

After his studies, he entered Schulmberger CAD/CAM division Schlumberger in 1985, as an Application Engineer. he later moved to sales and sales management, and was appointed CEO of Applicon, a Schlumberger company, with a turn-over of $10M in 1990, at age of 28. Applicon was later acquired by UGS, now being Siemens PLM Software . In 1992 he joined Parametric Technology Corporation as Country Manager, France, Belgium, Switzerland, where he developed the business of this at-the-time US startup in Europe, growing his country’s revenue from $4M in 1992 to $27M in 1995.

He is also a serial entrepreneur: He co-founded several startups, raised more than $17M for these companies that he usually served as CEO. Among them, Genifer SA, got acquired by Saqqara Systems Inc. of Sunnyvale, CA in 1998, PTC France has become a $150M business unit of PTC, and Altadyn which, according to the company;s announcement, later became BUSINESS HANGOUTS , a webcasting app built with Google Hangouts and YouTube, was sold in 2016.

In August 2011, Darius received the Person of the Year Award[1] by the Association of Virtual Worlds, in recognition to his innovative vision for accessible technologies for Virtual Worlds.

In April 2012, he appeared on BBC World News with an interview in BBC's Click program on innovative technologies,[2] in which his company Altadyn was featured.

Darius Lahoutifard prefaced the book "Virtual Leader"[3] and authored the French book "Entreprendre aux USA"[4] which provides a comparative analysis between the United States and France, in various matters, while serving as a guide for European entrepreneurs in the US.
