Dariush Ashouri (Persian: داریوش آشوری‎)[1][circular reference] (born in 1957 in Tehran, Iran) is an Editor, producer, production manager and director in the Iranian Film industry for more than 30 years.[2][circular reference]

Education[edit]

Ashouri earned his Diploma in Maths at Dar ul-Funun politecnic school (@persian: دارالفنون) in 1975. Entering college, He graduated in the major of film_Editing and filmmaking from College of TV and cinema, IRIB, in 1977. In addition, he graduated in the Management of Film Production degree at Industrial Management Organization (IMI[3]) at 1987.

Professional Career[edit]

Ashouri has compiled, managed and consulted several projects as Editor, Production Manager, Producer, Director and Professor of cinema.

Teaching[edit]

He was the founder the head-most cinema studies institution, namely, "Practical Workshop of Film-making" in 1987 which has changed its name to "Cinema Educational Complex". Several alumnus of his institute has been starting successful career in the field so far; namely, Fariborz Arabnia , Saman Moghadam .

In a more recent glance, he has been teaching several higher education centers in Tehran, Mashhad, Rasht and Yazd with more than thousand students. In the period of 2000-2003, he was presenting lessons as professor in the series of cinema editing programs at Education TV channel (IRIB-Amoozesh[4])(see the Persian TV channels here(List_of_Persian-language_television_channels)

Editing[edit]

He started his editing career with "Safar-e-Gharib" in 1985. in less than three years he was nominated as best film editor of Fajr International Film Festival in 1988 with "Hey Joe!". In 1996, he awarded the best editor by editing the Iranian TV series of "Pahlevanan Nemimirand" (@English: Chamipions never Die) in 1996. Moreover, he was the editor of the movie "philadelphy[5][circular reference]" in 2011, staring by Genghis Vossoughi, et al[6] and directed by Rahim Zadeh E., which was awarded the best special effect category of Fajr International Film Festival.
