Darmo Art is a contemporary art gallery company that promotes modern and contemporary artists. Starting as an art blog, it now operates as an art gallery[1] [2] that organizes pop-up exhibitions. In 2021, the company expanded its operations beyond contemporary art, to show late nineteenth and twentieth-century masters.[3]
History[edit]
Darmo Art was founded by two french entrepreneurs, during their university studies.[1] The company aims to develop young artists and accelerate their emergence. [4] In 2021, Darmo Art was named in Business Insider's star, rising series as one of the early-stage companies gaining popularity[5]
Exhibitions[edit]
Darmo Art has organized exhibitions in diverse locations. In 2020, Darmo Art exhibited twice with Salvatore Ferragamo.
Some of their exhibitions include:
Métamorphoses[edit]
Métamorphoses was Darmo Art's first exhibition. It took place in the Galerie Gismondi[6] and presented two young artists, Raf Reyes and Pauline d'Andigné. Raf Reyes and Pauline d'Andigné were 20 and 21 years old respectively.[7]
Symbioses [8][edit]
Symbioses took place in the Galerie Gismondi in September, 2019, and presented four contemporary artists: Raf Reyes,[9] Oussama Garti, Swann Ronné & Pauline d'Andigné.[10][11]
Salvatore Ferragamo[edit]
Following an earlier exhibition organized in February 2020,[12] Salvatore Ferragamo chose to work with Darmo Art in Paris for another exhibition: a solo show of Pauline d'Andigné. For the occasion, the artist created a series of works specifically for the exhibition space.[13]
À la rencontre des modernes[edit]
From June 24 to July 4, 2021, in Paris, then from July 7 to July 15, 2021 in Antibes,[14] Darmo Art organized an exhibition presenting late nineteenth and twentieth-century blue-chip artists. Artists exhibited include: Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Alberto Giacometti, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque, Antoni Clavé, Arman and César.[1]
