Daser David

Daser David is a Nigerian IT policy expert, digital technology entrepreneur, and social entrepreneur born October 30, 1983. On August 20, 2024, President Bola Tinubu appointed Daser as the president and chief executive officer of Digital Bridge Institute,[1] underlining the government's drive on its promises favoring youth inclusion. Daser is the founder of the first innovation hub in Northern Nigeria.[2]

Daser was the director-general of Plateau State Information And Communication Technology Development Agency under the administration of Simon Lalong.[3]

Education

Daser graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and a national diploma in computer science from University of Jos in 2009.[3] In 2023, Daser earned an MA from University of Abuja.

Career

After his mandatory one-year national service, Daser worked for the Nigerian Air Force and Nigeria Police Force.[4]

In 2016, Daser launched nHUB in Jos. The tech hub co-partnered with University of Jos to boost tech skills among undergraduates.[5]

PICTDA (2018–2023)

As director-general of Plateau State Information And Communication Technology Development Agency, Daser embarked on Code Plateau,[6] and Silicon Plateau projects, designed to supervise all IT hubs across the state. Quizzed on the agency's response to the tech skills gap, Daser said "our people now see the role of technology in their daily operations so the agency is being appreciated the more and we will continue to increase the effort to encourage more young people toward innovations; creating solutions that address our unique needs.[7]

Nigeria Data Protection (ACT) General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) Drafting Committee

Daser was appointed as a member of the Nigerian Data Protection implementation committee inaugurated September 4, 2023.[8]

Personal life

Daser is married with children.
