Dashim (born 15 March 1991) is a Rwandan radio and television personality, known for his music and entertainment shows mainly on BTN Rwanda.

Early years

He was born on 15 March 1991 in Nyarugenge, Kigali City, Rwanda, the first born among four children of a Christian family. He grew up in Karongi district, Western province with his family after the 1994 Tutsi Genocide. He completed his secondary studies at ES Gasenyi and university studies at Christian University with a degree in Mass Communication. As a child, his dream was to become a football player.

Musical career

In 2011, Dashim started a music career and described his style as "Afrobeat." He released a song called Gasaro ka Mama, and this song became popular throughout the country. He also released many songs such as Mpemuke Ndamuke, Bakunda Umurambo, Mabukwe ft. Uncle Austin, Kure ni Munda, and many more.

Media career

In 2012, Dashim worked with imirasire.com and Radio Flash FM. At Flash FM, he presented shows on entertainment and showbiz.

Dashim later joined City Radio in 2013. After two years, he was recruited at Hot FM as an entertainment presenter.

In 2016, he moved to television, working as a Director on TV1 and a Presenter on Star Gate on BTN Rwanda.

Awards

Dashim, with his show The Lunch Hour Jamz, was judged the Best Radio mid-day presenter of the year 2014/2015 by Rwanda Broadcasting Award.
