Dataworks Development
Dataworks Development, Inc. is a software and technology company that develops and distributes a laboratory information management system (LIMS).[1] It was founded in 1987 and is located in Mountlake Terrace, Washington (a suburban city 13 miles north of Seattle).[2]

Freezerworks
Dataworks Development, Inc.’s current sample management software is Freezerworks[3]. It comes in three editions: Ascent, Summit, and Pinnacle.[4]
History
Dataworks Development, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Cheryl Michels, Rick Michels, and Shannon Murray. During that time, they provided clinical trial data management tools through the Retrovirus Laboratory Management Program (RLMP©)[5]. The RLMP was demonstrated to fellow researchers at an AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) meeting. The ACTG decided to adopt the program in all ACTG virology laboratories. The RLMP was eventually adopted by more than 70 virology laboratories. The RLMP was a DOS product that included a freezer inventory module, the forerunner to Freezerworks®. From that point on, Dataworks Development, Inc. began developing their flagship product, Freezerworks Sample Management Software.[6]
Events
Users Education Conference
Dataworks Development, Inc. hosts the Freezerworks Users Education Conference (UEC) for its users. It showcases new features, provides training, and presents panel speakers.[7] All Freezerworks users are invited to the event. Before 2015, the Users Education Conference was known as the Freezerworks Users Group Meeting.[8]
