Dathan Thigpen

Dathan T. Thigpen (born April 26, 1994) is an American gospel musician. Dathan began his career at an early age recording with the Mississippi Mass Choir. Dathan was the lead vocalist on several hit songs with the Mississippi Mass Choir.[1]. He released his debut album "Get Up Vol. 1 Get Exposed To Unadulterated Praise" released on January 1, 2006[2]

A native of Jackson, Mississippi, he now resides in the Atlanta, Georgia area. While he honed his skills during his time with the Mississippi Mass Choir, he's also been featured on albums by the legendary John P. Kee[3], Benjamin Cone, III, and others. He an an alumni of Jackson State University [4]

Dathan first appeared on the gospel singing competition, Sunday Best in Season 3 in 2010 and was among the Top 10[5]. He returned to singing after taking a break from his career to devote time to his family. [6] He later became the season eight winner BET's Sunday Best" All Stars". [7]

In addition to singing, Dathan is a talented actor who has appeared in “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Neighbors From Hell” and “Scary Movie 5”, as well as Tyler Perry's "The Haves and The Haves Not"[8]
