David Andrew Bovino

David Andrew Bovino is the founder of Bovino & Associates, an Aspen-based law firm operating since 2010. His best known cases include obtaining a $22 million medical malpractice verdict for Robin S. Frankel, representing Juliana Pfister in a suit against her grandparents’ law firm and her personal trustee, Andy Hecht and his son, Nikos Hecht, and representing Cargill family member Andrew Cargill Macmillan in an ongoing trust dispute.

David is also the survivor of a harrowing kidnapping in South Africa, a story chronicled in the Aspen Times.

Biography

Bovino was born in Toledo, Ohio, April 10, 1980, to Jerald and Ester Bovino.

He earned his law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, and gained international law experience at the International Court of Justice, in The Hague, Netherlands.

Bovino opened his own law firm in 2010, in order to pursue his interests in complex litigation across a range of legal specialties, including corporate, real estate, trusts, estates, and family law.

Juliana Pfister

Bovino & Associates represented Juliana Pfister in a suit against her grandparents’ law firm and her personal trustee, Andy Hecht and his son, Nikos Hecht. Bovino also achieved a confidential settlement for Pfister in a wrongful death suit asserting $25 million in damages.

The case – which hinged on a physician’s use of a cerebral angiogram without informing Frankel of potential risks, resulting in a stroke that caused her significant paralysis – was especially significant because it was initially dismissed with prejudice, but was successfully reopened and eventually won by Bovino and Associates.

Sunrise Company

Bovino & Associates negotiated and settled a major lawsuit over development rights in the Base Village area of Aspen, protecting the original agreement and rights of its client, Sunrise Company.
