David Barak is a San Diego-based film director,[1][2] film producer and screenwriter. He was born in Lynwood, California and raised in Lakewood, California.
Before working in film, he worked for The Palm Beach Post as a photographer, illustrator and digital imaging technician. He also worked as a business columnist, copy editor and restaurant reviewer for The Palm Beach Daily Business Review, and has completed freelance photojournalism assignments for various newspaper, wire service and magazine clients including The Washington Post, The Associated Press and others.
Barak served in the US Navy as a Sensor Operator (SENSO) assigned to Air Antisubmarine Squadron 29 (VS-29) at Naval Air Station North Island, flying as a crewmember aboard Lockheed S-3 Viking aircraft and deploying aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70).
Barak was also a volunteer image analyst, examining photos of the Ararat anomaly on Mount Ararat in Turkey, purportedly the remains of Noah's Ark. He discussed his findings in a season 4 episode of History's Mysteries.[3][4]
