Early Life
Cats was born David Gatti in Venice, Italy. When David was 5, he began studying and practicing magic in his neighborhood, and at the age of 8, with his first English class, he created his stage name, David Cats. “Cats” in fact means “Gatti” in Italian. By age 15, he started to perform professionally.
Brief Bio
David Cats is a master Illusionist. Since the age of 5, David has been fascinated by the art of Wizardry and illusion.[1] He started to perform professionally at the age of 15. By the time he was 18, he had already completed his first Italian national Tour. A few years later, David took part in the “World Magic Seminar” in Las Vegas and had the pleasure to study from the greatest pros, like Lance Burton and Jeff Mc Bride (to name a few). In 2007, he was asked to take part in the Television special “Masters of Magic”[2] filmed for SKY Television. Throughout this time, he has also showcased his unique talents at prestigious Hotels, Resorts and Casinos, completed tours of 3 different continents, performing in over 50 countries throughout the world. Cats is passionate about magic and sees it as a unique art form. His performances show not only what human creative skills and imagination can do, but each audience is taken on a trip where they can suspend their belief in reality, be mesmerized by the beauty and emotional power of his illusions, and believe in the impossible. At Sea
In the most recent years, David is showcasing his unique brand of magic and illusions at sea, performing in 2008/2009 for Costa Cruise Line and from 2010 till 2015 for Princess Cruises[11]. He performs to over 3000 passengers each week aboard their newest ship – the Ruby Princess and Royal Princess. David Cats was nominated as one of Princess Cruises'[12] Top 5 Entertainers of the Year 2012[13][14][15]. In 2013, he had the pleasure and the honor to open their newest ship, the Royal Princess. This was a big step for Princess, as they were re-launching the brand with a new design and a new product, and they chose David to be part of the Entertainment Team[16].
