From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

David F. Gleich is an American computer scientist currently at Purdue University, well known for his work on higher-order methods for analyzing data and matrix computations. [1]

Education and career[edit]

David Gleich earned a bachelor's degree at Harvey Mudd College in 2004. Afterward, he attended Stanford University, where he completed his doctorate in 2009. His dissertation was Models and Algorithms for PageRank Sensitivity. [2] Subsequently, David Gleich had postdoctoral positions at University of British Columbia and Sandia National Laboratories. In 2013, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computation, University of California, Berkeley. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at Purdue University.

He has been working on a range of topics in computer science and mathematics. These include algorithmic anti-differentiation,[3] high performance computers, large scale data computations, and matrix-based network computations. His collaborators include Shahin Mohammadi, Ananth Grama, Vikram Ravindra, Austin Benson, and Jure Leskovec.

Awards and honors[edit]

In 2010, David Gleich received the Department of Energy John von Neumann Postdoctoral Fellowship. In 2012, he received an NSF CAREER Award for his work on scaling matrix methods to enormous amounts of data. In 2016, he was awarded a Sloan Research Fellowship.[4] In 2018, his paper, PageRank Beyond the Web,[5] was selected for a SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize. [6]
