David John Dudek (date of birth is unknown) is a prior American citizen. Currently, he is a Norwegian math- and science teacher at Ramstad junior high school. History
David can envision a person who at this point is a child, and in 2018 is a teenager. They now have access to fresh food, vegetables that are from farms not that far from the city of Oslo, and also food from within the city of Oslo. These food types they did not have access to before. They received education about how to grow their own food, and they're now involved in a food culture that their parents did not have access to prior to the time when their parents growing up.[1]
The American craft beer influence extends beyond guest brewing spots, though Scandinavia is a huge land with deeply ingrained traditions. This dichotomy is expressed by American brewer David Dudek, who runs the Møllebyen Mikrobryggeri, about an hour south of Oslo, Norway. “Some of the Norwegian breweries are very dynamic, like Nøgne Ø and Ægir, and some are conventional and conservative, often by necessity. The status quo is a pretty big obstacle to overcome in Norway.” Dudek, who went from homebrewing to the Breckenridge Brewery in Denver, Colo., moved to Oslo with his Norwegian wife in 2003 and took over at Møllebyen. He has seen sales grow, mostly thanks to specialty beers such as his Porter and Pale Ales and getting people educated and enthusiastic about beer.[2]
David first became interested in agroecology in 2005 while researching a Norway-based, English language Master of Science study of applied ecology. Previously a microbrewer and brewing scientist by trade, his bachelor's degree in biology was focused on liberal arts, botany, and microbiology. David is working with a manipulative weed harrowing experiment for his thesis work, and in addition to crop weeds and weed ecology, some of his other interests include agroecosystems ecology, urban agriculture, and global change ecology.[3]
