David Mawuli (born 1985) is a Ghanaian celebrity blogger, freelance journalist, reporter, music critic, analyst, and promoter. He graduated from The American Institute of Business Studies in 2011. He is well known for his constructive critique and expert analysis on Ghanaian showbiz, and gained recognition with one of his features titled “Hypocritical, greedy and biased nature of our radio presenters and DJs”.[1] He founded Thinkghmusic.com, a music website and blog dedicated to promoting Ghanaian indigenous music and musicians. He is the founder of TGM Awards, an award scheme dedicated to rewarding up-and-coming Ghanaian artists.[2]

He also founded Ghanafuo.Com, a blog dedicated to sharing success stories, breaking news, sarcastic and insightful comments, and the cries and woes of the ordinary Ghanaian on social media. In 2014, he joined Pulse.com.gh, a Ghanaian leading 24/7 online news portal as the Music and Movies category editor. Through his work, he has interviewed politicians, musicians, and actors, including Hon. Nii Amasah Namoale, Shatta Wale, Rocky Dawuni, Pascal Aka, Ohemaa Mercy, David Oscar, Jay Ghartey, Wanlov the Kubolor, Mr. Eazi, Patience Nyarko, Shaker, Sonnie Badu, Ebaby Kobby, and the Ugandan multiple award-winning songstress Juliana Kanyomozi.

Life and career

David Mawuli was born in a small village called Akyem Addonkwanta in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He is the first of four children born to Ghanaian mother, Mrs. Lydia Adorkorbidzi Mawuli, and Togolese father, Mr. Joshua Kwaku Mawuli (In loving memory). After high school, he moved to Accra to further his education, where he taught for eight years and eventually headed two private schools in Accra's Ayawaso Constituency. In 2008, New York-based multiple award-winning musician, Jay Ghartey, introduced him to blogging and subsequently appointed him head of his fan club (Jay Ghartey Fan Club) in Accra. Jay Ghartey bought him his first domain, Thinkghmusic.com, and made him his official publicist. His passion for blogging grew, and he wrote articles that appeared on the front pages of top Ghanaian news portals, including Daily Guide, News One, Graphic Showbiz, Ghanaweb.com, Modernghana.com, Spyghana.com (now News.com.gh), Ameyawdebrah.com, and Peacefmonline.com. Between 2012 and 2013, he worked for the Canadian news portal Ghanalinx.com before moving to Afroholic.com in 2014. He was also the editor and content manager for Ghanaiannews.ca. In 2014, popular Ghanaian blogger, Ameyaw Debrah, invited him to work for Pulse.com.gh.

Managing career

In 2015, Corna Rock Entertainment Record label appointed him to manage its artist, AJ Nelson. After a few months, he asked the label to find his replacement due to his heavy responsibilities.

He is currently the official publicist for Jay Ghartey, Kontihene, AJ Nelson, Kacey Moore, and Shaker. [3]
