David Overstreet II (born May 26, 1983) is an American football coach and former player who is the assistant defensive backs coach for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). Overstreet previously served as defensive quality control and assistant defensive backs coach for the Indianapolis Colts. He is the son of the late David Overstreet.
College playing career
David attended University of Missouri (Missouri), where he played strong safety from 2003 to 2006 for the Missouri Tigers football team.[1]
Coaching career
College Coaching
In 2015, he started his coaching career as a cornerbacks coach at Holmes Community College in Goodman, MS. In 2016, Overstreet began his tenure with the Garden City Broncbusters as the cornerbacks coach and defensive pass game coordinator. In 2016, the team played in the El Toro Bowl to win the NJCAA National Football Championship.[2]
Indianapolis Colts
In February 2018, Overstreet joined the Indianapolis Colts as the defensive quality control coach.[3] After serving in that role for three seasons, he was promoted to assistant defensive back coach in 2021.[4]
Chicago Bears
In February of 2022, Overstreet joined the Chicago Bears as the assistant defensive backs coach.[5]
