David Patrick Valera
Early life[edit]
David Patrick Valera was born in 1970 in Hollywood, California. Valera, born to Filipino immigrants, was always interested in the arts and started drawing and photography at the early age of 6 with a Leica IIIf he borrowed from his mother. Spending most of his free time watching Warner Bros. animation and playing Atari, Intellivision video games, he was set out to making his career in the digital arts. He was one of the earliest adopters of digital photography with the Apple QuickTake 100 when digital imagery began to rival film.
Personal Life[edit]
David Valera lives in the historic neighborhood of Highland Park, California in a 1903 craftsman house he restored with his entrepreneur wife, Frances Rourke Valera. They have two daughters Kira Valera and Lily Valera.
Career[edit]
David Valera started his career in animation at Rough Draft Studios working on Ren and Stimpy and as a voice actor on The Maxx. Valera made his jump to feature animation at Warner Bros. Animation on Space Jam. Currently he hold the position of Final Layout Supervisor at Dreamworks Animation.
