David R. Brock is an American leader in the Community of Christ. Brock has been the President of Seventy, a member of the church's Council of Twelve Apostles, and the church's Presiding Evangelist.

Brock was born in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Meridian High School in Idaho, attended Graceland University in Iowa, received a Bachelor of Science from the School of Community Service and Public Affairs at the University of Oregon, and a Master of Arts in religion from Park University.[citation needed] Brock has done further studies at the Instituto de Filología Hispánica, Saltillo, Mexico; the Alliance Francaise, Nairobi, Kenya; Berlitz Language School, St. Louis, Missouri; Saint Paul School of Theology and the Nazarene Theological Seminary, both in Kansas City, Missouri; and the Center for Creative Leadership, Greensboro, North Carolina.[citation needed]

A full-time minister since 1978, Brock was ordained as a president of seventy.[1]

On April 5, 1992, Brock was selected by Prophet-President Wallace B. Smith to become an apostle of the church and a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles.[2] Previous assignments included the Pacific Field, the Southwest Field, the North Central Field, administrator and stewardship commissioner of the Africa Region, assistant to the Council of Twelve, and Southwest Region staff member.[1]

On March 27, 2007, Brock was ordained as the presiding evangelist by Prophet-President Stephen M. Veazey.[3] He was released as presiding evangelist in 2016 and retired from full-time church service.[4] He continues to act in the church as an evangelist.[4]
