David Sprigle, née David Aden Sprigle, is a photographer of the often nude human form, and a publisher of Fine-art nude photography monographs and anthologies. He began his career publishing his own photographs from a studio above the Italian Market on 9th Street in Philadelphia.[1] in a loft he named Phenomenon Factory. The body consciousness of his figures sent him to Santa Monica, California, where he developed his imprint, FotoFactory Press, that presented proto-pseudo gay, iconographic photography from 1994 through the 2000s.

Male Bonding was Sprigle's first book printed in China and on the theme of Male Bonding. The anthology features 42 different photographers' works, derided by some as photographs of young, straight men[2]

Sprigle produced three additional anthologies as companion pieces to Male Bonding titled Beasts, Uniforms, and Male Bonding II[3].
