David Verweij, born on the 3 of September 1991, is a Dutch football player who currently is playing as a Centre Back for Fc Lisse. The now 27 year old football player, is well known for his goals with the header. David his nickname is "David Botteghin". and his favorite shirt number is Three. Introduction[edit]

From his early age, David played for Fc Lisse. He managed to play for the 'All stars team' of Fc Lisse but decided to change play for a lower league after he became a pinch sitter. During his time in the Lower leagues, David developed himself to a true captain and won the KNVB Cup, cat. 3, and won numerous other prizes.

After several years, David decided to challenge himself to make it to the higher leagues. He changed to the Sunday division of Fc Lisse. Soon he established himself in the Team. After winning three times 'best player', David made a transfer to VV SJC, playing in the 5th highest league of the Netherlands. He has since established himself as an integral part of the SJC squad. With SJC, David got promoted to the 4th highest league and the year after, SJC became the champion of the 4th league of the Netherlands.

Fc Lisse managed to buy David back. David will play in Yellow and Blue in the Season 2018/2019.

Style of play

Coaches have praised his defensive skills, range of passing, vision, mentality and versatility. David specialty is scoring through a header. Furthermore, David also became well known for his free kicks.

Younger years[edit]

David played in his younger years for the 'All stars' team at Fc Lisse. He changed to a lower league when he became a pinch sitter. During that time in the Lower league, David rediscovered his ambition and passion for football, but most of all understood what the happiness was of playing football with your friends.

During his time in the lower league, David won numerous prizes. His biggest award was winning the amateur KNVB 'league cup' cat. 3. During this match, David scored the 3-3 and became the goal keeper during the penalty series. David stopped two penalties, which meant Fc Lisse won the League cup. Other mentionable moment was winning a championship, were his team scored over 120 goals in one year.

At the age of 22, David decided to try his luck in the higher teams of Sundy Devision of Fc Lisse.

Professional years[edit]

David started his professional years at the age of 22. He changed from the lower league team to the Sunday Division of Fc Lisse. Soon he became one of the 11 players on the field. As Centre Back David managed himself to become a stable defender. He became 3 times player of the Year and in his last year, 2015, David won the championship.

In the season 2016/2017 David started to play for VV SJC. The first two years David was elusive for the opponent players. His first year at SJC let to the qualification cup to 4th highest league in the Netherlands. SJC lost his games and remained in the 5th division. David won in his first year the talent award. A year later SJC won the qualification round, and went to the 4th division of the amateurs. In the second year David was the winner of 'Best Player'. Year three was a year of training. During the season David got an injury at his knee and his focus was on becoming stronger and fitter and that had effect. Fc lisse In 2018 David came back to his old 'lover', Fc Lisse. Fc Lisse is currently playing in the third division of the Netherlands. He is currently a team member of the first team of the Saturday Division. David made his debut on the 22 of August 2018 against his old team SJC, for the KNVB League cup (based on the FA Cup). Personal life[edit]

David graduated from the Rijnlands Lyceum Sassenheim with an preuniversity secondary education (Voorbereidend wetenschappelijk onderwijs), which is the highest degree in secondary school. After that David finished his bachelor 'Sport, Management and Economy' at the 'Hogeschool van Amsterdam' (University of Applied science of Amsterdam), David started to work for Players United as a event manager.

David is 27 Years old and is unmarried.

David favorite drink is a Bacardi Coke with a beer in his other hand.
