Biography
Dayananda Deb was born in the village of Bamai in Lakhai upazila of Habiganj district in a zamindar family on 7th Jaistha 1278 BS (16 December 1870 AD). Father Gurucharan Chowdhury was a lawyer of Habiganj Bar. His mother's name was Kamakhya Devi Chowdhury.
World Peace Conference in France
After the First World War, a world peace conference, known as the Paris Conference 1917, was held on December 16, 1918 in Paris, France. One day before that conference, on 16 December, Dayananda introduced himself in English as the president of the "World Friendly and Monastic" organization, so that World War II would not begin. Dayananda's speech was admirable. Speakers at the conference declared Dayananda an ambassador of peace during World War I. Then Dayananda's name was Thakur Dayananda. Dayanand was gifted an aircraft by the French government. He travelled to all countries of the world with that plane. German Chancellor Hitler, Italian President Mussolini, delivered a message of peace to Emperor Akihito of Japan.
Dayananda in the First World War
While the Swadeshi movement and the First World War were being discussed in India, Dayananda established the Arunachal Ashram in January 1909, 3 miles from the city of Silchar in Assam province. The British government identified the ashram as a terrorist haven. Clashes occurred between the British police and the residents of the ashram. Mahendranath Dey died at Sylhet Hospital on 16 July 1912 after being shot. 58 people including Dayananda were arrested in that case. Dayananda Dev was imprisoned for a year and a half. After his release from prison, he organized world peace with the monks. Amrita Mandir was established on 20 February 1918, 1 km south of Bamai village of Lakhai police station.
Death
