Deacon Frey (born April 17, 1993) is an American musician, best known for being a member of the band Eagles following his father's death in 2016 until 2022,[1] and then again in 2023 when they announced their farewell tour.[2]

Early life[edit]

Deacon Frey was born to father Glenn Frey, best known as a member of the Eagles from 1971-1980 and then again from 1994-2016, and mother Cindy Millican in 1993.[3][4]

Initial stint in the Eagles (2016-2022)[edit]

Deacon Frey was drafted by the surviving members of the Eagles to replace his dad following his death in 2016.[1] This version of the Eagles was simply a touring group and did not record in the studio, nor are there any plans for them to do so in the future, per fellow member Timothy B. Schmit.[5] Frey remained with the group until 2022, when he left to pursue a solo career, although, he made occasional guest appearances with the band.

Eagles farewell tour (2023-present)[edit]

In 2023, the Eagles announced their farewell tour. They also announced that Frey would be returning to the band full time for the tour.[2]
