Debra Gandeng is an Indonesian singer-songwriter, pianist, and model. Signed to Sony under VHP Australian management at the age of 18 in Melbourne,[1] Australia, she worked with singers from Australian Idol to form a multicultural girls band. The contract was discontinued after a year because she wanted to have a solo career.
While doing makeup artistry and modelling for branded Japanese and European clothing[2] in Australia, Debra also collaborated with various great producers including Sam Melammed, who produced Merril Bainbridge for the Between The Days album and currently works for Big Brothers production house; Danny Simcic drummer from Real Life, who owns Attitude in rhythm record in Melbourne; Martin Van Hoof Jenkins from the UK, who used to work at the Pussycat Dolls production house and is also the tour manager for big events (e.g., Hilary Duff, Billy Ocean, and upcoming concerts for various big artists).
In 2010, she was given the opportunity to work with Audius Mtawarira. They collaborated to make her first single[3] together with Leon Sennandan, Audius's partner, who is another talented R&B producer. The next single is now in progress, collaborating with Fredrik Odesjo.[4]
Going home
In 2012, she decided to try her luck in the Indonesian show business.[5]
