History
DeciBio LLC, the predecessor to DeciBio Consulting, was founded as a market research firm covering the life science research tools and diagnostics markets by Stephane Budel and James Park in July of 2009.
In 2012, DeciBio LLC’s co-founder Stephane Budel joined forces with David Cavanaugh and Dan McChesney and formally established DeciBio Consulting in January of 2013. All three had worked at L.E.K. Consulting. In 2018, the firm narrowed its focus to precision medicine.
Currently, DeciBio Consulting is run by 5 partners—Stephane Budel, David Cavanaugh, Andrew Aijian, Miguel Edwards, and Steve Beuchaw.
After its founding in 2013, the firm grew relatively quickly given its success and niche subject matter.
In 2021, DeciBio Consulting became one of the youngest and smallest firms to break into the Vault Consulting 50 for North America.[1]
DeciBio ranked #1 in Innovation Vault and #2 in Firm Leadership in Vault’s 2023 rankings of the Best Consulting Firms to Work For in North America.
The firm has offices in Los Angeles (headquarters), the Bay Area, New York City, and London.
To date, DeciBio offers strategy consulting services, data analytics in precision medicine, and has an active Venture Capital arm.[2]]
