DeeDee Cunningham
DeeDee Cunningham (born May 30, 1965) is an eminent Canadian diamond expert, Gemmologist and author.
Becoming professionally interested in gems in the 1990s, she holds specialized diamond (DGA) and gemmology diplomas (FCGmA, FGA) from both Great Britain and Canada.[1] She has served as a tutor and laboratory teacher for the Canadian Gemmological Association Diploma Course. She is a former Chair of the Canadian Gemmological Association.[2]
Mentored by prominent British gemmologist, gemmological instrument designer and author, Peter G. Read, Cunningham is a recipient of multiple distinctions, including one in the Gem Diamond Diploma from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain[3].[4] She was awarded the W. Donald Goodger Prize from the Canadian Gemmological Association in 1995.[5]
Cunningham is the author of two books: the authoritative work on the subject of Diamond The Diamond Compendium published in 2011[6] and Practical Gemmology on the theory and science of gemmology. [7]
She lives and works in Toronto.[8]
