Deep End is the fourth single by American singer and songwriter Oliver Tree off his upcoming fourth studio album Love You Madly, Hate You Badly. It was released on March 27, 2026.[1]

Background

After the releases of Superhero and Joyride, Tree released no more singles until 2026. He then released the single "Flowers" in February 2026 as the completion and release of his album approached.[2]

In March 2026, Tree began teasing the fourth single through various clips of him dressed as Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit, right after he released a performance of him singing Flowers dressed as Lord Farquaad. On March 24[3], Tree announced the release date of Deep End to be March 27.

Critical reception

Deep End received positive reviews from reviews after its release. Digital Noise Magazine complimented the performance video that came with the single, calling it a "fun video" in their article.[4] In a review by Ace Showbiz, they say Deep End, "arrives on the heels of Tree's unprecedented global creative journey, as he recorded the upcoming album across seven continents and 80 countries over the last two years, including locations from Africa to China to Afghanistan, resulting in a record that is adventurous and deeply personal" while mentioning it blends "alternative grit with a hard-hitting beat and emotionally compelling lyrics that showcase a new side of the artist." Praising the performance, Ace Showbiz states that the video features "relatable humor and off-the-wall antics, including a Limp Bizkit impression and homages to his past eras, blurring the line between performance, parody, and pure pop spectacle" and showcases the "straight-faced humor and unmistakable antics Tree is known for, further cementing his ability to challenge perspectives on art and entertainment".
