Deep Haldar, Author of Blood Island: An Oral History of the Marichjhapi Massacre

Deep Haldar (born on November 6, 1975) is a journalist for two decades, managing newsrooms and writing on issues of development at the intersection of religion, caste and politics. He worked with popular News groups including India Today and Dainik Bhaskar. He also got the Best Editor Award at the 8th Newsmakers’ Achievers Awards 2017 by Afternoon Voice in Mumbai.

He worked with many News Agencies India Today Group, Dainik Bhaskar, DB Post, DNA, MiD Day and Millennium Post.

His first book Blood Island: An Oral History of the Marichjhapi Massacre was published last year by Harper Collins and became an overnight bestseller. It got rave reviews from book critics of all major newspapers and portals.
