Intro Def Jam Recordings South East Asia a subsidiary of Universal Music Group is a South East Asian record label focused on the hip-hop genre. Its current label roster boasts 22 exciting, boundary-pushing acts across Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.

History After single-handedly shaping hip-hop in America in the ‘80s and urging it into its current world-conquering, the beyond-influential institution now shines its light on South East Asia. The Def Jam South East Asia banner stretches over Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam.

In September 2019, Def Jam South East Asia was born under the flagship of Universal Music Group. On commencement day, 6 artists were announced as the inaugural signings to the label including Joe Flizzow from Malaysia, Daboyway from Thailand, Yung Raja, Fariz Jabba & ALYPH from Singapore and A.Nayaka from Indonesia at Music Matters, an annual music industry conference held in Singapore.
