Defamed is a deathcore band from Milan, Italy.[1] They formed in 2019 shortly after Mattia Maffioli, Simone Verde and Max Foti were kicked out from their previous band called Drown in Sulphur.[2] At the moment, they are not signed to a label.
History[edit]
Formation (2019)[edit]
Defamed was formed in 2019 in Milan by vocalist Mattia Maffioli and guitarists Simone Verde and Max Foti. They were all part of a deathcore band called Drown in Sulphur until their drummer took control of all the accounts of the band and forced them to leave the group. Shortly after this event, Mattia, Simone and Max decided to found a new band with Norman Ceriotti as a drummer and Joshua Rocchi at the bass.
First singles and Aeon (2020)[edit]
The group released their first single Circles on March 5, 2020. Their second single Gasolina, a deathcore cover of Daddy Yankee's song, was released on April 17, 2020. The band then released the singles In Tenebris on June 12, 2020, Doves on September 25, 2020 and Aeon on November 6, 2020, which later became the EP title track. Their debut EP Aeon was released on December 4, 2020 and all the singles but Gasolina are included in it.
Every single released by the band has been published with an official video.
All the songs had been recorded before the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdowns in Italy, which started on March 8, 2020.
Aeon (Instrumental) (2021-Present)[edit]
On February 5, 2021 the band released an instrumental version of the EP Aeon. The song In Tenebris (Instrumental), which had been released as a single on July 24, 2020, appears in the EP.
During 2021, the band has been invited to play in many metal festivals across Europe as the Tech-Fest in UK and the Z7 Wild Dayz in Switzerland.
On September 19, 2021, the group claimed to be back in the studio recording new songs that are going to be released in the first months of 2022.
