Deharmonizing is a pop culture podcast that launched in 2018 by Andrew Muhl and Josh Harelik, The podcast series typically goes deeper into various subjects primarily about music, but also television and film. The term, coined by the creators, means to deconstruct topics that have been influential to Gen Xers growing up in the 70's and 80's, but they also discuss some of the more current pop culture icons, trends and subjects. Each episode also contains segments centered around "This "Day in History" (the day the podcast is recorded), and "Didn't Ya Know", and "Stump the Chump'.

Josh Harelik and Andrew Muhl both grew up in Waco, Texas and met during their childhood. Their formative years were spent playing in several bands together, writing songs, making short films and writing multiple screenplays. All which went absolutely nowhere. They have remained friends ever since, despite living in different states. Josh, who also fronts the band Josh Van Joshua currently resides in the Dallas area, while Andrew has lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana since 2005.
