Dejan Kovacevic

Dejan Kovacevic is founder and owner of Dk Pittsburgh Sports, and is currently an American Sports columnist for Dk Pittsburgh Sports. He was born on October 9th, 1966.; in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He previously has been a columnist at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Dejan Kovacevic also does podcasts with Dk Pittsburgh Sports.

Early Life

Dejan Kovacevic was raised in Monroeville, and attended Gateway High School. Dejan’s parents split when he was six years old. His mom was a writer on local radio for 40 years, which likely influenced him in his early years to become a writer just like his mom.

Career

Dejan attended Duquesne University, and while attending college he did some occasional writing for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Dejan joined the PG sports staff in 1990, and was assigned to write about high schools, while also doing editing and page design. In 1997 he was assigned to the "Penguins beat" to write about the Pittsburgh Penguins, which ended in 2004. Then in 2005 he started doing "Pirates beats"; this is when he wrote about the Pittsburgh Pirates; it ended in 2011. Then Dejan went on to join the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review as the top sports columnist. Dejan has covered four Olympics which include the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, 2012 London Olympics, 2014 Sochi Olympics, and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. In 2011 Dejan was named a top 5 Associated Press Sports Editor for the category "columns:. Dejan is also a voter for the Baseball Hall Of Fame . Then on July 23, 2014 Dejan started his sports media company called "DK Pittsburgh Sports". Dejan is the owner of DK Pittsburgh Sports, and hosts podcasts known as "Daily Shots" of all three major Pittsburgh sports teams: "Daily Shot of Steelers", "Daily Shot of Penguins", and "Daily Shot of Pirates". He writes columns for his website, and has grown his business to have a staff of very talented writers. His website covers the Penguins, Pirates, Steelers, Pitt, Penn State, Duquesne University, and Robert Morris University. On April 29, 2022 he officially opened a location in downtown Pittsburgh called "DK Pittsburgh Sports".

Family Life

His mom is Vlatka Zgonc, and his dad is Milan Kovacevic. Dejan’s wife is named Dali, and he has two children, one named Dara, and the other Marko
