Del Amo Boulevard is a major west-east thoroughfare in Los Angeles County. Its western terminus is at Prospect Avenue at the Redondo BeachTorrance border, where it continues on as Del Amo Street, and its eastern terminus is at Coyote Creek at the CerritosLa Palma border, where it continues forward as La Palma Avenue.

Route Description

Beginning at Prospect Avenue in Redondo Beach, Del Amo Street becomes Del Amo Boulevard upon entering Torrance. Through Torrance, it intersects Hawthorne Boulevard (State Route 107). Then, Del Amo Boulevard pauses for a short amount of time after intersecting Western Avenue in Harbor Gateway. Then, it begins again at Normandie Avenue, and crosses into West Carson. Shortly after, it goes under Interstate 110 (I-110) and Interstate 405 (I-405). Del Amo Boulevard goes through Carson and, in addition, it is also the southernmost border of Compton. It then goes under the Long Beach Freeway (Interstate 710) and enters the city of Long Beach. It then intersects Lakewood Boulevard (State Route 19) on the Long BeachLakewood border and intersects I-605 in the city of Lakewood. Then it enters Cerritos and crosses over Coyote Creek. Then, Del Amo Boulevard becomes La Palma Avenue and continues east.

Neighborhoods

The residential strip called El Pueblo includes 111 homes between Crenshaw Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue. This was the residential district for the workers at the Columbia Steel and the Pacific Electric Railway.[1]
