Denis Gursky
Denis Gursky, born at Mariupol, Ukraine, is an open data advocate, founder of Ukrainian civic tech NGO SocialBoost. He has been an open data advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
Career
Gursky is a new media and technology expert, open data advocate, who graduated from Kyiv National Economic University.[1]
He is a founder of Ukrainian civic tech NGO SocialBoost, focused on impact projects in the field of open data, civic participation and e-governance.[2] In 2014, with the support of Soros Foundation and Microsoft, SocialBoost developed National Open Data Portal as a part of open data reform.[3]
In 2015, Gursky became an open data advisor to the Prime Minister Arsenii Yatsenuyk.[4] [5]
He established 1991 Open Data Incubator, that helps to grow open data based startups.[6]
In 2017, he founded 1991 Civic Tech Center, the first civic tech hub in Central and Eastern Europe. Hub was backed by $480,000 investment from Omidyar Network, philanthropic investment firm, established by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar.[7] [8]
