Denise Anita Hill

Denise Anita Hill is a Write-In Candidate for State Representative, Illinois House District 25.[1]

She is a former chair of the Hyde Park/Kenwood Community Action Council (HPKCAC), and a former Parent Representative and Chair of a Local School Council(LSC) at a Chicago Public School (CPS).[2][3]

Denise is a wife, mother of two, and a minister.[4]

State Representative Write-In Candidacy, Illinois House District 25[edit]

Denise is an Independent.[2] She believes that "state policies should help enhance the lives of its citizens."[2] Three major policy areas central to her campaign includes economic security, education, and the environment.[2]

Previous Public Service[edit]

During Denise's tenure as one of two Chairs of the HPKCAC, the CAC approved the National Resolution On High Stakes Testing[5] [6], voted in favor of keeping Walter H Dyett High School open[7] [6], and support for the Coalition to Revitalize Dyett's Proposal for A Global Leadership & Green Technology, Sustainable Neighborhood School.[8]

As an LSC Chair, Denise lead a principal selection process that sought to build in thoroughness[9], transparency[9], and community input into it's process.[9] [10]

She also spoke out about maintaining open enrollment access for middle school youth displaced by another CPS school closing.[11]
