Denise Wilma Carrara-Rudolph Schulz (born February 15, 1946) is a retired American actress, voice actress, puppeteer and a singer who performed and recorded in diverse genres including rock, country, light opera, jazz and Latin.
Early life
Denise Wilma Schulz was born in Mission, Texas, on February 15, 1946, the third of four children of Gilbert Schulz (1911–1977), a tap dancer, and Ruth Mary (née Copeman) Schulz (1914–2002), a singer.
Retirement
In 2003, Schulz announced that she was retiring from puppeteering on Sesame Street. The following year, Susan Garland and Carolyn Hallissey replaced Denise as the performers of Benny Sue and Sunita.
