DentalMonitoring was created by Philippe Salah in 2014. The company launched its connected care offer in 2017.
In March 2018, DentalMonitoring raised $9.5 million from more than 50 individuals.
In 2019, the company raised 45 million euros[5] from investors Vitruvian Partners, Naxicap Partners and Straumann. The startup aims to accelerate its development in the United States and Asia[6][7].
Commercial sales of DentalMonitoring products began in 2017 after 3 years. DentalMonitoring have signed an agreement that provides Straumann with global distribution rights to DM's technology in return for an injection of capital and a minor stake.

DentalMonitoring has raised 207.3 million in funding over four rounds as of 2021, from funds including Vitruvian Partners, Naxicap Partners and Mérieux Equity Partners[8][9]. The company is valued at $1.2 billion and became France's unicorn[10].

The purpose of DentalMonitoring is to analyze, detect and report oral observations from images taken with a smartphone[11][12][13].
