Department of Software Engineering of Lutsk National Technical University — is the subdivision of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies. It was founded in 2019 by dividing the Department of Computer Technologies and Vocational Education[1]. The department conducts training for students of the undergraduate and graduate educational programs "Software Engineering".
History
The Software Engineering Department was established based on the Department of Computer Technologies and Vocational Education, which at that time was reorganized and divided into three departments.
Educational programs
The department conducts training for students of the undergraduate and graduate educational programs "Software Engineering". During the educational process, they are gaining knowledge and experience in such areas as:
- creating and managing databases;
- web applications development;
- development of applied software;
- project management, etc.
Except for the education process, the department supervises some scientific clubs, such as project management and software development.
Staff
The staff of the department consists of 11 employees, 2 of which are professors, 6 associate professors, and 3 assistants. Among them:
- Andrushchak Ihor Yevhenovych - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. Head of Computer Technologies Department (2016-2018), dean of the Faculty of Finance, Accounting, Linguistics and Law of LNTU (2018-2020), member of the Intersectoral Expert Council on Higher Education at the Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science (2018-2020);
- Matviiv Yurii Yaroslavovych - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. Research interests - software development of information control systems, research in the field of mechanics of deformable solids;
- Lishchyna Nataliia Mykolaivna - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. Head of the Department of Information Technologies and Fundamental Disciplines of the Lutsk Institute of Human Development of University "Ukraine" (2012-2014). Since 2019 - Head of the Department of Software Engineering. Research interests - innovative technologies in education, data mining;
- Sivakovska Olena Mykolaivna - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. Research interests - projects and program management, new technologies, ICS;
- Yashchuk Andrii Anatoliiovych - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. Research interests - pattern recognition, image analysis and processing, computer modeling;
- Povstiana Yuliia Slavomyrivna - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. Deputy Dean for Youth Policy and Career Guidance of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies;
- Poteichuk Mykhailo Ivanovych - Research assistant, LNTU postgraduate student of educational program "Materials science". Research interests - renewable energy sources, development of tracker positioning systems for solar power plants, cryptocurrency development in Ukraine.
Cooperation
The department cooperates with IT companies in the region, including WebMaestro, InternetDevels, Visor, ideil, etc.[2]. In addition, there is cooperation with the Lutsk IT cluster[3], thanks to which excursions for students to the companies within the cluster[4] are organized. In addition, experts from these companies hold lectures[5] and training[6] at the university.
