Desolated are a five-piece hardcore band from the United Kingdom[1], formed in Southampton in 2008. The band is known for their aggressive live performances, violent fan base and lyrical content which covers themes of experiencing and overcoming depression and suffering. Desolated rose to prominence with the release of their music video for 'Death By My Side' - which caused controversy in the alternative music community due to the violent dancing that became known as 'crowd-killing' [2][3][4].

Formation and Early Years[edit]
Desolated was formed in Southampton in 2008. Initially, they began playing local shows and house parties, rapidly gaining a local following.
Debut Release and Rise to Prominence[edit]
In 2010, Desolated released their debut album, "Birth of Corruption," which showcased their heavy, metallic-infused hardcore sound. The EP received positive reviews within the underground deathcore community, becoming popular on numerous sharing websites and early social media, such as MySpace.
Full-Length Albums[edit]
