The Deutsches Tanzabzeichen (DTA) is a German dance award, given to dancers by the Common German Ballroom Dancing Teacher Association (Allgemeinen Deutschen Tanzlehrerverband). Apart from an award by the World Dance Council, usually given after the intermediate dance course, the DTA exists in Bronze, Silver, Gold, Goldstar as well as Super Goldstar Level I, II und III. The applicants are tested in four to six dances, depending on this level. A trained dancing teacher examines the dances, which can be chosen from five Standard and five Latin dances.
