Devil Within is a Japanese melodic death metal band formed in Tokyo in 2019.
History[edit]
The band formed in March 2019 in Japanese capital Tokyo. The band was formed by Undead Corporation bassist Kensuke Matsuyama who switched on guitar in Devil Within. The band is completed by vocalist Yu Umehara who is also vocalist in Merging Moon, second guitarist Kouta who is a member of Thousand Eyes, bassist Yoji Ueno who is originally a member of Afterzero and drummer Yūto Suguno who is Matsuyama's bandmate in Undead Corporation.[1][2]
Just about one month after establishing the group, Devil Within released their full-length debut album Dark Supremacy consisting out of ten tracks.[1][2] Dark Supremacy which was released via Ichigaki Records peaked at no. 97 in the Japanese album charts.[3]
Musical style[edit]
The music of Devil Within can be described as metalcore which is influenced by melodic death metal, especially Goteborg death metal.[2]
